We know that before our children can succeed in school, they first need to be healthy. Our friends at Georgia Organics have brought students, educators, school nutrition professionals, farmers, and families together in October for the past 12 years to celebrate Farm to School and Farm to Early Care and Education Month.

Farm to School Month connects children to local food and those who grow it, while uplifting farmers and nurturing healthier, more resilient communities across Georgia. I’m sad to share that this will be Georgia Organics’ final Farm to School Month campaign, and I invite each Collaborative to celebrate the 2025 “Apple of Our Eye” campaign in your own unique style.

Georgia Organics has made their resources available for free and easy access to all communities. They’ve also shared their Farmers Market Kids Club Toolkit and  social media toolkit. Please share your photos, lessons, and fun on social media using #AppleOfOurEye.

Georgia Organics reminds us that the impact, relationships, and joy we’ve cultivated together will continue to grow in classrooms, gardens, and communities across Georgia and says, “Because once you plant the seeds of connection, they keep on growing.” And who can attest to that better than Georgia Family Connection?

Be well, be safe, and stay connected.
