This city-wide initiative produces an original picture book every year, then our community partners fill the summer with literacy-rich programming centered on that story. Our application deadline is March 18th so we urge you to jump on this opportunity today!

Training! Before our launch in May, GEEARS will host a partner training to introduce you to this summer’s book, a funny romp of a story called Dinosaur! We’ll help you craft creative programming inspired by the book and teach you how to best use our READ Guide, developed by the Atlanta Speech School, to heighten the literacy impact of your read-alouds.
Books! GEEARS will provide all the free books you need to send home with children to read with caregivers.
Community! “An entire community reading the same book creates a sense of belonging,” one of our longtime partners has told us. What’s more, our partner training is both a chance to learn and a joyous convening of child-serving professionals.
