DeKalb Initiative for Children and Families Supports Families at Park@500 Community Field Day
The DeKalb Initiative for Children and Families (DICF) was proud to participate as a community vendor at the recent Park@500 Community Field Day in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Hosted by the DeKalb County Human Services Department and coordinated by Youth Services Manager Vanessa Amos, the event brought together families, community organizations, and service providers for a day focused on wellness, engagement, resource sharing, and community empowerment.
Representing DICF at the event were members of the Board of Directors and the DICF Coordinator, who connected with residents, shared information about DICF’s mission and initiatives, and strengthened relationships with community partners dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.
As part of its commitment to supporting family stability and access to essential resources, DICF:
- Distributed medical carrying cases to families
- Shared information about DICF programs, services, and collaborative community initiatives
- Sponsored birth certificate fees for residents who registered with the DeKalb Board of Health’s Vital Records Unit during the event
The Park@500 Community Field Day provided an excellent opportunity for DICF to engage directly with families, build new partnerships, and help connect residents with valuable resources. Through efforts like these, DICF continues to serve as a trusted connector, advocate, and catalyst for positive change, working alongside community partners to support the well-being of children and families throughout DeKalb County.
DICF extends its appreciation to the DeKalb County Human Services Department, Vanessa Amos, and all participating organizations for creating a meaningful event that empowered families and strengthened community connections.
