On Saturday, June 27th, the DeKalb Initiative for Children and Families (DICF) proudly volunteered at Commissioner Chakira Johnson’s Full STEAM Ahead! Community Cookout held at the East Central DeKalb Senior Center.
The event b
rought the community together for a fun-filled day featuring interactive STEAM activities, children’s games and entertainment, community vendors, health screenings, educational supplies for teachers and students, and great food.
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the summer while helping families prepare for a successful upcoming school year. DICF is grateful to Commissioner Johnson for hosting this impactful event and for bringing together organizations committed to supporting the children and families of DeKalb County. We look forward to continuing to partner in efforts that strengthen our community!
